What is included in a program?
I typically create a program using the framework of my “Mindful-based therapeutic approach”. It would be in a weekly structure which combines physical exercises, breathwork practices and meditation. You will also learn how to incorporate mindfulness into daily life aspects, such as drinking and eating.
From my own experience, a structured framework is very effective as it creates a journey for your personal development. Just like taking the medicine, you may feel the healing power instantly, the lasting effect still needs to be developed in a longer period. This is how the transformational process starts, and I am confident that it will be a life-changing experience.
I will be supporting you with daily practices, regular checkups and some learning materials (aka homework). It will be an inner journey for you, while I am here for you every step of the way.
What would a typical session look like?
As this is a tailored program, we always adjust the form and content based on the outcome of our initial intake.
The first session is always the intake, which helps me to understand your needs and situations. This allows me to tailor the program accordingly, and draft a framework to begin our sessions.
In each following session, we will dedicate our time to focus on a theme. My themes are mostly defined by Body & Mind, where we will do a few practical exercises such as breathwork and yoga asanas. I will also share the focus for the coming weeks before our next session. There will be informal practices for you to take these learnings with you, and let them slowly cultivate into your lifestyle.
How many sessions do I need?
I prefer to work with a flexible program where we can shape the sessions together. So you also don’t need to stress over how many sessions you need right from the start. However, I recommend having a session every 2-3 weeks. This allows us to keep our bodies and minds engaged in progressing through the journey, and make adjustments if needed.
After a set period (ideally around 8 weeks), we can discuss if you would like to continue for a longer period. Or we can dedicate it to a particular aspect of the program you found most beneficial to you.
How long does each session last?
Each session will last about 1.5 hours, which depends on the activities involved. We will define an indication of the required time for each session when your tailored program is created.
I would like to take the time for a reflection at the beginning of each session. Then we will continue with new techniques you could learn with me, and round off with informal practices in-between sessions.
