Hi, I am Mengjia Chen
I am a Mindful (Hypno)therapist who loves integrating the magic of our subconscious mind into our conscious awareness.
I have been working in the Hospitality & Technology sectors for over 10 years, which makes me an empathetic individual with a technical mind. I enjoy learning the theories of how our body and mind work while carrying out practices to experience it personally. Because I believe we should be a living example of what we teach.
Throughout my own journey of buoyant wellbeing, I have created a framework that brings structure to my learnings and practices. And I would love it to benefit more people in need.
Where it all started…
Were there times that you feel you have “lost your mind”? You seem to have a good life: you’re earning well at your job, you can afford many nice activities that you like, and have friends or family who care for you. But deep down, you felt lost and unhappy. Your life is going on autopilot, and it has been on a loop where you missed the connection with your true self.
Well…this was me. After going through the sick leave & reintegration twice (due to an abdominal surgery and later a burnout), I felt broken physically and mentally. As if life has pressed the brake and made me take a hard look at myself, I had the wakeup call and transformation which I desperately need. I learnt in a hard way how important it is to live an aligned life, having your body and mind in tune with what you are doing. And I’m glad that I have found my way again, especially when my experience has helped many other people ever since.


My therapeutic mindfulness journey
Through my sickness, I started searching for what could heal me deeply and facilitate my growth with lasting effect. I found Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) – a highly evidence-based framework that combines many incredible principles such as meditation, breathwork and yoga which I absolutely love. While Mindfulness remains the core of my learnings, I went on a quest to become an instructor in these individual fields. It gave me absolute pleasure in deepening my knowledge and being equipped to teach others.
I am amazed by how MBSR preaches the informal practice of being Mindful in life:
- bringing conscious awareness to the present moment
- connecting to your feelings, sensations and emotions
- learning acceptance, non-judgement & self-compassion
It changed many of my perspectives, even the tiny little things I used to neglect in life. Very soon, Chinese tea ceremony became my passion to share my love for Mindfulness, where I guide my groups to appreciate tea with all their senses and awareness.
Practicing Mindfulness has been a wonderful experience to me. However, I always felt missing a therapeutic tool which brings faster and deeper results. I see many people losing connection with their body and mind, and some of them were even in pain or seeking for answers.
My search ended with Hypnotherapy, where I was healed multiple times during my training. I am continued to be empowered by every successful session I had with my clients, as they helped me to feel whole and purposeful again. I have then studied BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT), that enabled me to offer a more content-free and permanent resolution to everyone in my community.

Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200) at Yoga Alliance.
